Amy Approved Burgers

Most people eat their burgers on a bun but not me!  Yes I am odd (I admit) but this a clean way to get a good dose of iron in grass fed beef without making it a heavy meal.  You are going to LOVE this burger recipe:

Hamburgers:
1 pkg of organic grass fed beef
1 apple – peeled
1/2 onion
3 garlic cloves
Handful of fresh oregano – chopped
1 egg
Salt/pepper
1 tbsp dried mustard powder
1 tbsp organic ketchup

Mix everything together in a bowl, make into patties & bbq or cook on your stove top.
To mine I add: tomatoes, avocados, lettuce, mushrooms (sauteed w/ onion in coconut oil) and cucumbers.  I dip every bite into organic ketchup and gluten free mustard.

Grass Fed Beef (3-4 ounces)

*Eat 1-2 times per week
*Grass Fed contains 2-6 times more of the “good fat” called omega-3 fatty acids
*High in Vitamin E & Iron
*Naturally leaner than grain-fed beef so contains less fat and less calories
*3:1 ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fats
*Loaded with natural minerals & vitamins, plus it’s a great source of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) which is a fat that reduces the risk of cancer, obesity, diabetes, and a number of immune disorders
