Sloppy Joe’s!!

Your whole family will LOVE this recipe!  I served my husband and daughter’s on a gluten free bun with their cabbage salad & broccoli as sides.  For me I had a heaping serving of the cabbage salad, broccoli on the side & a large spoonful of the sloppy joe mixture.


1lb bison, organic turkey burger or grass fed ground beef

1 small onion


1/4 cup bell pepper (optional)

1 organic tomato paste (buy the tube that contains NO citric acid – Trader Joe’s, JJ’s, Sprouts)

1 tbsp organic mustard

Organic chili powder

Garlic powder

3 tsp organic raw honey

Dash coconut sugar (optional)

Salt & pepper

Coconut oil or ghee (for pan & to heat bun)

In your pan use a dab of coconut oil to sauté the onion & garlic.  Add meat & brown.  Add the bell pepper & continue to brown.  Add in all other ingredients, salt & pepper to taste & let simmer a few minutes.  If it’s super thick you can add a tablespoon or so of water.  Brown your bun on skillet with ghee or coconut oil.  Top meat & have steamed broccoli or my cabbage salad on the side.
